Will Dunniway, one of the photographers who taught me wetplate at Eastfield, sent an e-mail today with scans of everyone's images. In there was a tintype of Annie that was taken for Billy McMillen, the master tinsmith who taught her all about tinsmithing from when she was a little girl.

Caught a few scenes of the new "War of the Worlds" movie on CNN while I was flipping through the channels, and Bayonne, NJ is figured quite prominently into the movie. Today, 227 years ago, Sir Charles Lee and his detachment moved out under the cover of darkness from around Englishtown, NJ to probe out the rear guard of the British army moving through Monmouth Courthouse on its way to Sandy Hook, and then, via transports, to New York.
