So I read an MLK list of recommended YA titles a few weeks back and absently placed a few holds. The books came in, and I've pulled them into a neat little pile to read them. Then I notice something that seems weird to the point of conspiracy.

My left hand is warm. My right hand is terribly cold. This only seems to happen in my room when I am sitting in front of my laptop. I wonder why. Is there a draft on that side? It's closer to the desk light - you'd think it would be the other way around.

I've been on a Lincoln kick, initiated by our library's community read The Hammer and the Anvil: Frederick Douglass, Abraham Lincoln, and the End of Slavery in America. This is, you will be undoubtedly shocked to know, a dual biography of Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass. The portion on Lincoln's younger years made me decide to watch Henry ( Read more... )

My bamboo is finally dead, I think. I was given that as a get-well present, my last semester in college, back in 2003. I was also given an African violet around the same time: it finally died in 2007 or 2008, while I was in grad school.
