I was lying on the settee, with Pye the cat lying on my chest facing me. He was chewing the toggle on my duffel coat and I was considering stopping him, when I sneezed in his face. He ran away.

There you go. A worrying insight into my life perhaps.

The last of our rats, Dot, died last night. She was such a lovely creature, but had got so ill and old lately that it was really upsetting me. I just can't believe they're all gone now. The world seems like a grey place today.

As usual, I pull out onto the road at 7.20am to drive to school. Then I hear something rather out of the ordinary. 'CLUNK'. Every little pothole I go across, there is a smaller 'CLUNK'. Bugger.
