So this painter guy we know, in an effort to convince us to get the outside of our house painted (it does need it), told us that the red-brown colour was OMG, so 70s.

Sheesh, good thing he hasn't seen the kind of 70s offenses I commit on our dining table.

Yikes. Apparently people felt this (south island) earthquake all the way up here in the north island. We slept through it, possibly because our town is on the other side of the fault line (?). It looks pretty awful down there, with water supplies contaminated and cell phone towers and major buildings damaged ( Read more... )

I still miss Lucy painfully, and yet the new cats, Sophie and Spencer, are quite delightful. How bizarre, to be heartbroken and happy at the same time.

Meesto and I watched 20 hours of wine education videos. We went to a few local wine tastings and found some local things that I really, really liked. Then we went to an Enormous 15 Vineyard Wine Tasting in celebration of our 15 yrs of marriage.
