"Hypothetical" question
If one had to refer in an academic essay to the article of women's underwear which traditionally covers the bottom, how would one do so? I'm inclined towards 'knickers', but it doesn't sound very serious :-(

Lyrics question (long shot)
Sometimes my brain produces random songs to play at me when I wake up. This morning it didn't manage a whole song, just one line:
"She said 'hi', I said 'yeah, I think I am'"

Long shot: missing glasses, anyone?
This applies to hardly any of you, but I've asked everyone I can think of, and have obviously missed the crucial person, so...
Have you:
- Been in my car in the last few months?
- Lost a pair of glasses in approximately the same timescale?

Five days later than originally intended, after sickness forced me to get submission extensions, I have finished my academic work for this semester. Missing: one word
I require a word which means "causes or is caused by". I suspect the English language does not possess such a word. This is a great trial to me in the process of writing an essay about a bunch of stuff for which we don't know which direction causation operates. Mostly I'm explicitly stating the causal ambiguity, and sometimes I say things like "is ( Read more... ) -
