A room with a view.

I'll spare you all the reasons why my patience is routinely worn thin at work and show you the reason why I sometimes love it. Out of the three labs that I've worked at this is the only one where they went to some trouble to make sure that nearly every department has a beautiful view.

A room with a view: )

Very sloth like and he could hold still like a statue in the strangest poses. We get the smaller white herons every once in a while but this is the first time I saw such huge blue one.

Oh yes. Whenever I play "If I Ever Won The Lottery" one the very first things that I imagine is a home with a view very similar to the above. I would never take it for granted.

Believe me, your description sounds oh so familiar. The two other labs that I've worked at were a converted warehouse or two floors down in the basement. With this lab I still keep expecting them to pack us up and move us to a tent but so far ::fingers crossed:: they haven't.

:;big grin:: Yeah, I think so, too. Whenever things get really stressful at work I just take in the view and I can literally feel the tension fall away. One of the unwritten perks of the job: We'll put you through the wringer but we also know how to fix the aftereffects. And they do. ::shrugs::

Well, that's not a too shabby view!

Yeah, it's pretty awesome as far as I'm concerned. They somehow managed to let all the worker bees have a corner office with a view. If for nothing else I hold them in high esteem for that. Sweet!

Oh wow! What peaceful pastoral pix!!

Without a doubt, a fantastic view and how wonderful/amazing is it that someone decided to use the spot of real estate for the aesthetic instead of for the profit.

(too bad the inside work atmosphere doesn't match the outside view, eh? =/

I honestly believe they should list it as part of the benefits package: You have health, dental and vision insurance and a spectacular view to enjoy when things get to be too much. Enjoy!

Actually, the story goes that the man who started the lab really did want to make sure that all of his employees had a nice work environment (sounds like someone who's worked in a basement in his time) and so he bought this property back in '68, I believe, before the area was turned into a park reserve. We are literally out in the middle of nowhere which puts a lot of people off (the drive is on a twisty highway) but I love it. And yeah, inside is a whole other story but at least there's always a quick walk outside to undo some of it.
