I am once again writing a paper (which is ironically often when I post on livejournal, since that is when I feel like procrastinating). For this one, I had to pick a user group and analyze it. I know that I am guilty of almost never having my phone on, but between work, class, and sleep, there isn't a lot of time for me to have it on. Neither is inventiveness, ingenuity, or independent thought. If it is not the same thing that everyone else is doing, or the way things have always been done, then it shouldn't be done, even if it leads to better customer service. That's what I was told, anyway.

Today my professor said that librarians should aspire to be like Jean-Luc Picard. Or something like that. It made me happy.
