Had the best of times with ephyse at the London EXPO (even if there was WAY too much queing, and we had had only one hour of sleep), where we met up with the chatty lonelybrit , saw the Merlin cast, can now testify that they are all quite edible, and even got their autographs.

Oh, people and their cheap little philosophies. One of my Facebook contacts just posted a link to "A beautiful life lesson..." - which is a video of a guy without arms and legs, just a sort of chicken thigh, who's talking to school pupils, explaining (and showing them), basically, that even without arms and legs what matters is rising again every ( Read more... ) -
theatre night on tv, now that's a surprise
Kuddos to France 2 for airing a fantastic play I saw earlier this year, Good Canary. The female lead is the only one that was present in the production I saw, and I really loved her, but the best news is that in this production the male lead is Vincent Elbaz and I absolutely adore that comedian.

quick review
I think I adore Lost in Austen.
It's doing quite an impressive job at having us in the story - just exactly as it does for Amanda. It's the first time I actually (temporarily I'm sure!) despise Darcy, and want Amanda to knock the boots with Wickham! And it's got an incredible casting, too. Just saw the pre-aired pilot for The Mentalist and duuude. I'm going to love this show. And so are you!
The Mentalist centers around a mentalist (what's mentalism?) who uses his talents as he works as a private investigator to solve crimes alongside the police department.

~ Perfect Strangers (imdb) was a fascinating watch. I cannot recommend it enough. Powerful and nostalgic without being melodramatic, they really found the perfect balance to tell an otherwise simple and very human story. And it has Toby Stephens, Matthew MacFadyen and JJ Feild - so even if you can't be arsed to tune in for the plot, go at it for ( Read more... ) -

Oh bloody hell, what kind of casting is that now. They took the concept of MarySue and brought it to a whole different level ; in which the supposedly plain looking but profound & spiritually outgrown young lady is actually played by a superficial 30something beautiful woman.
