I looked for an internship for this summer, but that fell through. I got a few responses back saying, "You look like a great candidate, but there is no funding this year." Classics all around!
So I posted a while ago about my list of films to see. I've been working on them, starting with AFI's list. I've now seen six of the top ten, and I've got another one in the house already. I've been also reading Crime and Punishment, which is really, really good.

How Little I've Seen
My list of films seen barely outnumbers my newly created list of films to see. Children of Men (review for school paper)
Children of Men is the latest move from Alfonso Cuarón (Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban; Y tu mamá también) based off the novel by P.D. James, starring Clive Owen (Sin City), Julianne Moore, and Claire-Hope Ashitey. It's something . . .
I've watched lots o' movies recently, and again I have failed to write about them immediately after seeing them.
Brokeback Mountain so deserved to win best picture instead of Crash. The film is sparse and realistic, as opposed to annoyingly-trying-to-be realistic. There is no ostentatious camera work, but subtle effects, such as including the ( Read more... ) -

As I drove to the U City Loop yesterday to meet up with some friends at the Tivoli, I followed my google map directions dutifully even though they seemed to be routing me through the side streets. Asia not so Extreme?
I've been watching Sundance's Asia Extreme for the past three Sunday's. It's been a mixed bag thus far.
