I got super pissed about prop.8 (banning gay marriage in California) and this guy who basically claimed that the constitution had no problem with it, and that even if it did it didn't matter because it was being passed by the state of California.  Riiight, because states are totally independent of the constitution - in fact, it only applies in D.C ( Read more... )

On Saturday Dev and I rode 16 miles round trip on our bikes.  We started around 95th dtreet and rode the Burke-Gilman trail up to Bothell.  The ride was gorgeous - Seattle does autumn right, with trees turning every imaginable autumn color and crisp but sunny days.  The trail goes along Lake Washington almost the whole way, and we could see across ( Read more... )

I went to The Empty Bowl young adult spiritual retreat at the Shoreline Unitarian Universalist church this weekend.

Man, my mother is right about everything.

Of course the worst thing about McCain is his political perspective and ridiculous policies.

But by far the most ANNOYING thing about McCain is that he doesn't open his fucking mouth when he speaks.  There is so mush shhhing when he speaks, and other such annoying vocal tendencies.  I honestly cannot listen to this man give speeches for four years.

It's all an expectations game, and I am losing.

I'm going to a performance of The Nutcracker with Dev this December, and the sets and costumes are done by Maurice Sendak, of children's book fame. I'm super super excited about this. Nothing puts visions of the modern day equivalent of sugarplums dancing in my head like the Nutcracker, and I think this one will have an extra dose of whimsy with ( Read more... )
