I'd raise hell about it, personally. I may not like second-hand smoke but I _really_ don't like fasccist cessation of a person's freedom to do as they please.
Wow, that is completely and utterly WRONG!!! I don't agree with it at all. They want to help with the transition so they offer "smoking cessation programs"? WTF?!?!
Yeah. What about offering "smoking sections" or something? A poorly contrived system is better than saying "We're changing, so you either have to shape up or deal with it."
I think that is ridiculous. I understand that not everyone smokes, but there are those of us who do. One shouldn't have to stop because the campus says so. What if they said," We are now a meat-free facility. We will offer meat-eating cessastion programs to aid in this transition." Smoking is a choice, like vegetarianism/veganism, getting a tattoo, drinking, drugs, sex, washing your hair, taking a shower, driving a car, getting boogers, whatever, they are all a choice we make at some point.
I know if I didnt get to smoke on campus, I wouldn't have met the friends I do have. It's a social thing, as well as an addiction thing. I would also probably have killed myself if I couldnt smoke. It was MY only release and peace time all first semester.
