Been neglecting this journal for no reason other than laziness. A quick update- Kyle's visa's finally been issued, he's been living here for a while. We went to Boston, USA, and got married at the end of May, which probably helped with procuring the visa. Spent a few days in Salem, MA, which was awesome. Saw the Trooping of the Colours in London. Matthias Olsson, the drummer from Änglagård, one of my favourite bands, randomly added me as a friend on Facebook.

It's 29c! In the UK! Yesterday, I went out of my flat and took a couple steps onto the lawn, then froze, perplexed by the pleasant temperature, and wondered what had happened to England.

Kyle's visa application was rejected again. We won't have an answer for a few days as to why.

Out of over 200 references I've gathered in 6 languages, perhaps 30% of them are in Icelandic (the language of the 6 I read the worst). Why write archaeological excavation reports in Icelandic? Even if half the people in Iceland are interested in reading such a report, that's still only like, three people.

I was going to make a proper update, saying that I'm back in the UK, the flight was the best I'd ever had, everything's been fine aside from a brief period of illness, and that it's nice to be back...

I just found out that Kyle's visa application has been rejected.

I'm not really sure what to do now.

I feel cheated- Since arriving in Florida, the low temperatures have been much the same as back in Cambridge. I've had to gather up my tropical plants and put them on the covered patio with a heater aimed at them. At least my dad had the sense to bring my breadfruit and cacao indoors

I'm back in Orlando, for the holidays.
