Sadly there were no royal mounties, bags of milk, or venison slurpies on my trip (NB: obscurish song reference).  However, there was a visit to Smokey Tom's, or more accurately, hazy Tom's, a trip to the shoe museum, a weekend of lovely nerdy conversation, and a long awaited drink.

Ok folks, just an FYI - my grandfather passed away this morning, so I'm going to be out of communication for a little bit.  I'm alive, doing as well as should properly be expected, and just need a little bit of time to mourn properly before dealing again.

As much as I would have expected otherwise, I seriously miss Boston.  You can't buy a reasonably priced box of good black decaf tea at any of the local markets here (but of course, there's coffee as far as the eye can see).  My radiator hisses and my neighbors run leafblowers at 7am.  I spend all of my free time studying or planning to study ( Read more... )
