Working in State Offices
For most of my career I have worked in State Offices, but still some of the things that go on surprise me. In NJ, I work at this sprawling office park - long confusing corridors but only 1 floor. Happenings
The summer is flying by and I've been busy. Let's see a few weekends ago I went down to DC to visit Katie, which was lovely. We went to Kayla's fundraising 80's party which was a lot of fun to dress up for and fun to attend. The following week I drove up to Nikki's house on Thursday night. Spina Bifida
So on Monday, during one of my 3 weekly Medicaid Rules meetings we were discussing various income types. Apparently, the VA issues a benefit to anyone who served in Korea or Vietnam during certain years and subsequently had a child born with spina bifida (in case you are wondering, these payments are counted as unearned income in terms of ( Read more... ) -

Jumpers/ Rompers and Other happenings
I think that's the correct term for them. I don't know about everywhere but this trend has been huge in Boston for at least the last month. If you're not sure what I'm talking about, it's like shorts and a tank top in a single pattern put together with an elastic waistband. Yes, it is as bad as it sounds. I just got off a conference call where my manager (who I mentioned drove me crazy with "in respect") just said "with respect" twice, which I think I awesome, but does make me slightly paranoid ( Read more... ) -

So my immediate supervisor on this project has some sayings that drive me up the wall! He uses the word "import" as in "if it's of a certain level of import, then you need to raise it to management". I'm pretty certain that import does not equal importance, right ( Read more... ) -
Brian Fallon
He is the lead singer of The Gaslight Anthem and I've been slightly in love with him since I first saw them play almost exactly a year ago. He's doing a solo show at a tiny club in New Brunswick this Friday and I'm totally planning on seeing him - I'm super excited about it (I'm even more in love with the Gaslight Anthem and Brian Fallon than I was ( Read more... )
