My dog, Foxy - the turd factory - had a freaky experience the other evening that I am had pressed to understand, let alone figure out. The young Amaryllis have grown large enough to warrant their own individual pots. I cleaned out the interior of the green house of weeds, empty pots, etc. and set out a tray of twenty-one four inch pots and potting soil for them. No, I did not skip a page or lose it. This is actual count. I went to NorWesCon to have fun and get away from plants for a while. When I came home on Sunday, the first thing I did once in the house was to turn on the "sun" for the Amarylis seedlings. They were doing well. Yet, the tray looked fuller. I am surprised! The four seedlings became ten almost over night. The tenacity of life always amazes me. These "new" seedlings (6) are unorthodox in their appearance, NOT coming up through the hole provided for seedlings to emerge but forced their way through the plug to grow out of the side of the plugs.
