Where my life stays a category 5 shitstorm
A shirtless hippie pulled a samurai sword on me at 3 in the morning the other night. He was tripping on acid and about to walk towards me in a street covered by broken glass. Broken ankle
Yep, fractured my left ankle and will be on crutches the next four weeks. At least I got the boot, and no cast, it's been murder on my right leg as the primary supporter of my body weight (other than the crutches of course). Fuck pot holes! -
Someone's trying to blow up Zia's
University has been blocked off by police (with their bomb proof police tape) between Ash Ave. & Mill Ave for the last two hours because of "a suspicious package." This is a view from the top (or near the top) of the stairs to the train station and subway stop in Marseille, in southern France. Brian and I stayed in there for two days and two nights back in January. I have a friend with a van (she calls it a bus, so y'all can probably tell it's a VDUB), and I find it really charming that when she and her girlfriend go out and party they retire to the van and sleep in the parking lot instead of driving home. It's little things like that keep me contented that maybe, just maybe, the whole world isn't fucked.
