First thing first...celebrated my 2nd wedding anniversary last night. Robin and I went and saw the little dumpling in the NICU, had leftover beef stew and watched "The Illusionist" on DVD. Worst day of my life
So two days pass, Robin is still swollen, groggy, blurred vision, and high blood pressure. The OB was worried that she wasn't healing enough so she called for a CAT scan. The scan was on Saturday and then she came by and gave us the bad news. they had seen a blood clot in the scan, on the back left side of her brain, pressing into it. The worst ( Read more... ) -
Instant fatherhood...
OK, not so instant since I knew I was going to be a father...but waking up on the 14th with a wife that needed to get to the hospital and going to bed that night as a father was kinda a shock...I'm not sure the full impact of the responsibility and the real change in my life has even hit me yet. Good news...and bad
Good news before bad...Baby Joshua is doing fine, they upped his food intake, although he has a feeding tube, he is off the blood-oxygen monitor since he is breathing normally (lord does this kid have a set of lungs...) So he is doing fine. He is feisty and a charmer (at least according to the neonatal nurses ( Read more... ) -
What a morning...
Woke up at 4am to geochick saying she had trouble seeing and felt a sharp pain in her upper stomach area. These were signs we had been warned about so we called the OBGYN who told us to head to the hospital. So, a question to the interweb-gallery...what to get an expecting mother for Mothers Day? Robin and I are expecting our first child come December :-) We figure this is the best way to spread the news to those i will not see at events until later in the year. -

So geochick and I were driving back from PA after visiting good friends for their daughter's first communion...We are behind a trailer on 695...I say to geochick..."Hey, that trailer reminds me of Gordon..." mainly because of the assortment of plastic boxes and end-tables and other assorted cruft.
