This morning I feel bad about my grumpy post yesterday regarding the stink from next door. I am sure my neighbors aren't bad people. Maybe inconsiderate but not bad. This week I have turned into lawnmower woman. (I recon I'd like sum of them thar french fried tatars). I've mowed our lawn twice. Second time because I could get to some of the grass where the big tree top was. Still have a little more tree top clean up to go. Mowed my son's lawn one evening to give him a break. Recently several of my LJ friends have posted pictures and/or stories about eggs hatching. alien_anomaly heard 3 chicken peeping inside their eggs before they hatched. tofarawayplaces wrote about taking quail eggs out of the nest after the mother quail had been killed. It's a very good thing I was so lazy yesterday because when Steve came home he started working on tree clean up. We had done some before and got a lot done yesterday but we still have several more hours left. It was surprising how much we did get done yesterday in a little under 2 hours. Insurance man is coming out Monday to look at our storage building damage. This morning I worked in there taking inventory of smashed items. Not too bad. My largest papier mache snow woman was headless and I knew about that. The other things were just a few odds and ends, a big brass planter, some plastic soap/candy molds and a coin bank. Yesterday Steve noticed a HUGE Red Tailed Hawk standing in our neighbor's backyard just on the other side of the fence. This bird was a GIANT! Grabbed my camera but didn't get a picture. The giant flew off holding a squirrel. There has been a noticeable difference in the squirrel population lately. This must be why ( Read more... )
