Life Bird!
Went back to Conewago Rec Trail two days ago. I had not been impressed with it the first time I went, but I was really feeling the need for a good walk and it was the closest place. What a difference a few months makes! Swarming with birds, all kinds of birds! Also swarming with joggers, bike riders and noisily chattering groups, but not as bad as ( Read more... ) -

Falcon update
Well, the drama at Wilmington is over. Red Girl successfully defended her territory against the intruders, but the excitement apparently drained her energy level enough to delay the laying of egg #5. So today, 4 days after the last one, she dropped another egg. It is a pale thing - not much color in the shell, which is probably another byproduct of ( Read more... ) -

I was so taken with the West Wind's Child picture that I decided to reproduce it on glass. Last month when AC Moore had a big sale, they had Ivy Bowls for 77 cents each, so I bought half a dozen of them. Then I didn't have any ideas for them, so they have been sitting. March Madness Update 1
The first upset of the season appears to be underway in Wilmington, and it is breaking my heart. Red Girl, my very first rescue, has 4 eggs in her nest. Yesterday, not one but 2 intruders appeared in Wilmington. It now appears that one of them is occupying one of Red Girl's favorite perches. March Madness
It's that time of year again - Falcon Time!!! Territories are being claimed or contested, scrapes are seeing resident turnover. Falcons are canoodling 10 times a day, and have begun to lay their eggs. Tiercels are building up their stash of prey in preparation for the food demands of a clutch of clamoring gaping-mawed, rapidly growing eyases. The ( Read more... ) -

I've been a bit snuffly the past few days, and woke up this morning with a full blown cold. Just felt blah all day - dozed off and on in between working on a set of glasses that I need to get finished. The gloss sealcoat kept getting smeary and I had to scrape off and start over.
