[Multi-Chap] Bento - Chapter II

Chapter II : His Feelings
There was an unusual silence between Hikaru and Inoo during their way home. Inoo seems to be avoiding Hikaru's eyes and keeping themselves at a distance. Every time Hikaru would scoot closer, Inoo would either speed up his steps or slow down. Hikaru, being an impatient guy, grabs Inoo's hand and pulls him close.
“Eh, what's wrong Hikaru-kun?” asked Inoo.
“Nothing. I just want you to be near me...” Hikaru grinned.
“Oh.” Inoo flashed his trademark smile and continues to walk.
There is something different about Inoo... Hikaru couldn't sleep. The smile Inoo gave him that evening didn't melt him as it usually does, and he called him Hikaru-kun instead of Hika-chan or Hika-pyon. Since when has Inoo started to get formal? He couldn't help himself but to think about that until he fell asleep.
Hikaru woke up at around 5am to prepare his bento. He put the onigiri carefully into the box, clasped it and wrapped it with a clean blue cloth. He smiled at the bento and he went off to pack his school stuffs. He then walked into the dining area to eat his breakfast alone. His parents are away in a few weeks for business, which he had already gotten used to. He turned on the television to know the weather status. “It's gonna rain today,” He said to himself as he took an umbrella with him and left the house.
On the way to school, Hikaru saw a familiar figure riding a bicycle with a stern face. “Ah, Yabuchii~” Hikaru waves. Yabu turned to him and smiled.
“Yesterday I got to know Takaki-kun,” Yabu said.
“Oh, that brown-haired guy?”
“Yeah. We left here together.”
“Ohoho. Then?”
“He's a weird one. We didn't say a word to each other while walking home. And I think his house is not headed in the same way as mine, but he still accompanied me.”
“How nice.” Hikaru pats Yabu's back. “He likes you.”
“No way!” Yabu punches Hikaru's arm lightly. “But I think I saw him before...”
When they arrived at the school entrance, they could hear girls hysterically screaming and giggling like there is someone famous. It's hard to pass through the fan girls; they had to push them away so they could view the center of attention. They saw a black shiny limousine, Mercedes maybe. Yabu could see everything perfectly as he is tall while Hikaru is kinda having a hard time with the moving girls around them.
“What is it?!” Hikaru yelled loudly.
“It's just a limousine. Let's go.”
Yabu was about to turn his head back, when a voice belonging to a male suddenly called his name.
“Yabu-kun!”
“Takaki-kun?” Yabu was shocked.
“Ah, yappari Yabu-kun ne~ Let's go inside together.”
Takaki pulled Yabu's wrist then they ran towards the school building, leaving the girls behind. Yabu glanced at Hikaru with a confused face. Hikaru just shrugged and followed them.
Takaki is a new student in Yabu's class. He entered the school yesterday, but the Yabu didn't notice probably because he fell asleep during the introduction. He knew Yabu's name because the teacher pointed him to sit behind the latter. It came to Yabu's senses that Takaki is actually a famous idol at the time. His face is almost on every billboard, no wonder Yabu thinks that he has seen Takaki before.
“Ahh, I see,” Yabu chuckled. He ate his bento slowly.
“I brought a hamburger,” Takaki showed Yabu his bento.
“Sugoi! Homemade?”
“My family chef made it.”
“I'm jealous!” Hikaru exclaimed.
“Eh, Hikaru-kun? Where is Inoo-chan?” Yabu asked.
“He said he didn't want to eat.” Hikaru said mouth full of onigiri.
“This is weird.” Takaki said.
“Very weird. Inoo-chan is always here during breaks since you were together. What happened?” Yabu asked.
“I don't know. He was weird yesterday, too! He kept quiet most of the time on our way back home.”
“You didn't ask him what's wrong? Maybe he has something to say to you or something...” Yabu comforts Hikaru by rubbing his back.
“I didn't... I was scared to ask...”
“I think we should go and talk to him now,” Yabu stands up and tugs Hikaru inside the building.
“I mean, this hamburger is weird. Did the chef use an expired mayonnaise? He will be so fired!” Takaki throws his hamburger aside. “Eh, where are they?”
When they reached Inoo's class, they heard him guffaw. Hikaru held his breath as peeked at the door. He caught Inoo talking to a.... girl. A CUTE GIRL. They are laughing together. Then he saw the girl flip her hair and hit Inoo's arm weakly. Inoo stopped chortling and stared at her. Hikaru couldn't take it anymore; he ran away, abandoning Yabu in front of the classroom. Inoo seems to have noticed Yabu's presence and appeared shocked.
“No, Yabu-kun! It's not like what you think!” Inoo pushed away his chair. Yabu keeps silent. “She's just a friend, Yabu-kun, I swear!”
“I'm gonna go now.” Yabu started his pace back to his own class.
“No!” Inoo slumps at his chair and covers his face with his hands.
And it was just starting to rain.
