Chapter III : The Letter.
Hikaru kept quiet for almost three days now. He doesn't eat during breaks, he doesn't fool around like he used to and he doesn't wait for Yabu to come together to school anymore. Yabu is getting worried as he never saw Hikaru acting like this before. He took the initiative to talk to Hikaru.
“Ano ne...”
“I'm gonna stop.” Hikaru cuts Yabu's line.
“Ha?”
“I'm gonna stop thinking about Inoo-san.” Yabu noticed the different honorific. “I guess he's interested in girls now huh.”
“Eh?”
“I mean, did you see the girl flipping her hair? That is totally flirting! And, and, and... Inoo-san stared at her after she punched him! What a flirt!”
“Ano ne, Hikaru-kun,” Yabu puts his hands on Hikaru's shoulders. “I don't think Inoo-chan likes the girl...”
“I don't know anything now, Yabuchii. He didn't even try to call me to explain,” Hikaru let out a soft sob. Yabu didn't say anything, he just pulled the younger boy closer and pats his back to comfort.
Takaki observed the two friends from afar. He was worried too, but didn't know how to help. Somehow, looking at Yabu consoling Hikaru made him go doki doki. He kept staring at them, furrowing his eyebrows.
“Takaki-kun~ What are you doing?”
“Eh? Ah. Daiki-chan...” Takaki fixes his hair. “Nothing, really.”
“I saw you staring at Yabu-kun and Hikaru-kun for a while now. Could it be..”
“NO! I mean, no. Don't get the wrong idea,” Takaki's face turns red.
“I see. Why can I hear your heart thumping...”
“Urusai, baka. Why are you here anyway?”
“Hate my presence?” Daiki chuckled. “I want to chat with Yabu-kun but looks like he's busy right now.”
Once again, Takaki glanced at Yabu and Hikaru. The two are talking about something, then both of them got up and went out of the classroom. Yabu noticed Daiki and smiled at him as he walked out with Hikaru.
Takaki decided to wait for Yabu to come back in the class. He stared at Yabu's space and scans it from the chair to the table. He spotted something underneath Yabu's table that looks like an envelope. It actually is an envelope. It was blue in colour, bordered by a gold trace and has a sweet scent of fruits. Peach? He flipped it back and there is a beautiful writing. Girl's writing? LOVE LETTER?! Takaki explored around him furtively to make sure that there is no one watching him. He shoves the letter into his pocket and decided to go home since it's getting late.
His limousine awaits him outside the school ground. On his way home, he took out the letter from of his pocket. Takaki kept staring at it, thinking if he should open it or not. His driver discerned his behavior from the mirror.
“Love letter, Yuya-sama?”
“Maa...”
“Youth is great, isn't it?” The driver laughed. Takaki just beamed and returned his attention back to the letter. I guess I'll wait till I get home.
As soon he entered his room, he threw himself on the comfy bed without bothering to take off his suit. He gazed at the ceiling, trailing the moving fan. Then, he remembers the letter. He quickly grabbed it and opened the envelope. Guilt suddenly rushes through his veins, deeming that opening other's properties is inappropriate. But he was curious. He slowly took out a piece of paper from the envelope and read it.
Yabu-kun,
I'm really sorry about what happened few days ago. Until now, I couldn't help myself but to feel terrible for ditching Hikaru-kun. It's not that I hate him, but I realized that I like someone else more. Can we meet tonight, at the Cherry Cafe? I would like to talk to you. I'll wait for you.
Inoo.
Inoo? As in Hikaru's Inoo? Takaki read the letter again. Tonight? He's expecting Yabu-kun to be there. But I have the letter! So he went instead to meet Inoo.
Takaki recognized someone who appears to be waiting for somebody, sitting inside the cafe and stirring in his cup, and he supposed it was none other than the letter writer. He walked up to sit in front of him. The boy's expression were solid; shocked and confused. He merely grinned at the latter then he helped himself to order his drink.
“What are you doing here? And who are you?” Inoo questioned faintly.
“Aa... How should I say this. To shorten the story, I saw the letter under Yabu's desk. I took it, brought it home, and read it. So, I'm sorry!” He bows his head a little, expecting Inoo to yell but what he heard was a small laugh.
“It's alright. I was praying that Yabu-kun wouldn't notice the letter. Thank God you're the one who got it.” Inoo took a sip from his drink.
“I'm Takaki.”
“I'm Inoo.”
“I know.”
“I know you knew.” Inoo giggled. Ironically, his eyes became sad and he stared at his coffee.
“You can talk to me if you want to.”
“I think I like Yabu-kun instead of Hikaru-kun.”
Whoa, straight-forward! Eh, Yabu-kun?
“I see,” Takaki shifts himself.
“I thought I'd tell Yabu-kun tonight, but I guess it's impossible, ne?” Inoo chuckled.
Glad I took the letter. W-wait. What did I just said?
“Why? How?” Takaki asked. “Sorry, I'm just curious.”
“Curiosity killed the cat, you know? I-I'm not sure myself. I've been with Hikaru-kun all the time, but I guess I started to get notice of Yabu-kun most of the time. It was since then he protected me one day when it was raining and sent me back to my house although his house is far from it.”
“Where was Hikaru-kun that time?”
“He went home early that day. I was in the school committee together with Yabu-kun. We had some paperworks to do, so I told him to go home ahead. I felt terrible, Takaki-kun!”
Takaki spent his time listening to Inoo's rantings. Deep in his heart, he regretted going there, hearing Inoo's confession towards Yabu. On his way home, he clenches his chest symphatetically.

Yatta~ Another chapter :D Takaki centric!
Thanks to
j3nt1sh again<3 Sorry for the troubles m(_ _)m
In this chapter, Takaki has too much monologue xD Don't you think?
I love writing his monologue. Don't know why.
I... I don't know who else to put there as an extra, so I choose Daiki cause he's one of the BEST xD
He deserves more love, but too bad I'm not really fond of him to put him as the main character here.
Tad-ah! The secret's out.
I wrote this because it was during the Inoobu period, you know, the making of thing? ;p
Do wait for the next chapter~
Thank you for your supports to those who read & I loveee your comments<3
