Too drunk and full of SMALLPOX you horrible person! How DARE you?!!!?
Seriously, though. Be proud of your Shiksa status. I got a whole group of Hassidic Jewish guys laughing when I got out of our family car at 11 years old and yelled, "Daddy, there's schmutz all over the car!!"
I had to ask my Mom why they were laughing and she told me it was because I was little and speaking yiddish and they probably knew I wasn't Jewish so they thought it was cute. I had NO idea up until that point that all those words I used were an actual LANGUAGE. I thought they were just onomatopoeias, like Dr. Seuss words!
My favs: schmuck, bobkes, farkatke, farklempt, kakameyme, kchutzpah, mensch, meyvin, mitsve, nosh...okay, stopping now...(and yes, I did look up their proper spellings :)
the Census Bureau actually changed its race/ethnicity reporting questions in the 2000 census precisely for that reason. there are an awful lot more people of mixed race heritage.
incidentally, the term Shiksa does have some pretty derogatory connotations about a woman's sexual availability. there have been a lot of articles on the subject, but here's the opening lines from wikipedias' entry, which is pretty accurate. Shiksa (Yiddish: שיקסע) or shikse, is a Yiddish word that has moved into English usage, mostly in North American Jewish culture, that is used as a pejorative or mock-pejorative term for a non-Jewish woman. Traditionally, the word shiksa is an ethnic slur used to refer to a non-Jewish woman to whom a Jewish man is attracted, or an attractive non-Jewish woman who is dating or married to a Jewish man.
