215,000 dollars later, I am the proud owner of a new house. A house which badly needs a new paint job. And the yard is basically one big ant's nest, with no grass, just weeds. But that'll be changed. Oh, how it'll be changed.

Judge my choices!
So Benn and I picked out laminate flooring for the downstairs and linoleum for the kitchen today. The flooring place came recommended by our realtor, who is also sister of my coworker Jackie, and it's one of those "mention my name and they'll give you substantial discounts" things.

I'm going off of carbs again. The fact that my clothes keep getting tighter and tighter just adds to my despair and helplessness. So I'm going back to giving up my comfort, the thing I can look forward to so I can get through my day, in the hopes that I will eventually feel better about myself overall. It seems like an even, maybe a lesser, trade.

Benn's birthday was last week. After solid weeks of me trying to convince him that he should get to pick his own birthday activities on his birthday, rather than just sit around the house like we always do, Benn finally chose to go to a BC Lions (that's football, apparently) game and then walk across the street to try the Atlantic Trap and Grill. On my trip to Nova Scotia I saw even more things to add to my list, but maybe I'll save those for the next missing-the-maritimes countdown. It was good to be home - far too short - and I've been absolutely exhausted since I got back. Especially since my doctor is an effing moron. I'll try and give an update here at some point.
