I went to the zoo yesterday and discovered a fantastic animal: The Takin. They look, move and sound like they ought to reside on Hoth in Star Wars. -

I was reading the back of the box that my dinner came in (yes, yes, I know. Microwave dinners: bad, sad yosnowden. Whatever). It said "Serving size: two samosas. Servings per container: about three." The most PC cupcakes in the world (are a little dry)
We had friends over for Easter dinner again this year and it was excellent fun, at least from my perspective. It wasn't very fancy, but fortunately our friends don't seem to mind eating out of mini-casserole dishes with plastic folks (we ran out of proper bowls and silverware) while squashed around borrowed card tables. A little sunshine in the day
When I got prints of my holiday pictures back from the store there was a little note folded around one of them. It was a compliment on the picture and said it reminded the writer of a Vermeer. First things first: I spent a good portion of the weekend trying to teach myself geography on this website. The water demon is back
And it's completely my fault. In the first incident, I'd been puttering about one of the lab rooms all day, trying to fix things. Apparently while I was doing said puttering, I managed to pull one of the water drain hoses partially out of the drain. This wouldn't be very hard to do since the drain hoses have to drape all the way around the room ( Read more... ) -
I just realized the most amazing thing...
I'm an adult. I can make cranberry sauce anytime I want to. I've never made cranberry sauce before (someone else always cooks it for Thanksgiving) but it's my favorite dish of the holiday (followed closely by mashed potatoes and a slice of sour cherry pie right next to a slice of dark chocolate pie).
