Poetry Fishbowl Report for Tuesday, May 11, 2010

May 14, 2010 15:50

The May theme was "teaching basic lessons," as chosen by the audience in a previous poll.  People interpreted it in some fun and different ways.  It got off to a slow start but picked up later.  I worked from 11:45 AM to 11 PM, so that's about 10 hours 45 minutes after lunch and supper breaks.  I wrote 17 poems.  Most were medium-short, with a few medium-long or short; nothing went longer.  Almost all of them were rhymed and metered, primarily ballad form, which is not a surprise; rhyme makes things easier to remember.  Most if not all of them came from single prompts, although some folks asked for similar things or seconded someone else's prompt.  A total of 13 people sent prompts; welcome to new prompter eseme! There were 52 comments, including mine.

Buy Some Poetry!
If you plan to sponsor some poetry but haven't made up your mind yet, read the list of  unsold poems.  That includes the title, length, price, and the original thumbnail description for the poems still available.

The currently sponsored poems have all been posted.  I've sent backchannel copies of the unsold poems to their prompters.  Since there were no general donations this month, there is no poetry poll.  I still need to write the donor perk-post.  The May donors include: ellenmillion, marina_bonomi, minor_architect, janetmiles, and nhpeacenik.  Thank you all for your support; you folks are wonderful.
