The theme for July was "sociological science fiction," part of my ongoing project to explore different subgenres. (
Sociological science fiction deals with soft sciences such as
anthropology,
psychology, and
linguistics; and
how technology impacts societies.) I actually started off with two prompts in the can from people who didn't expect to be online during the fishbowl. Then there came an early surge of prompts, and some trickles later, so I kept going quite late. I worked from 11:30 A.M. to 12:15 A.M. so about 10 hours 45 minutes, allowing for lunch and supper breaks.
I wrote 17 poems, fairly well distributed over medium to long, with several epics; no short poems this time. They also tended to combine prompts -- "Buffer's Own" actually stacks five into a single poem! -- although some were solitaries. Almost all were free verse, although there were a couple of haiku-verse poems and one sonnet.
A total of 17 people sent prompts, which is quite enthusiastic. Welcome to new prompters
red_trillium,
laffingkat, and
rhodielady_47! There were 42 comments, including mine, on the main page; plus another 11 on a related post.

Buy Some Poetry!
If you plan to sponsor some poetry but haven't made up your mind yet, read the list of
unsold poems from July. That includes the title, length, price, and the original thumbnail description for the poems still available.
As an epic in progress, "
RUT?" is being microfunded. The first three verses are online now, and others will appear as they are funded. If you visit the poem's page, you can see how much is left to fund it fully and chip in something to watch it grow.
All fully sponsored poems have been published. Private copies have been sent to prompters. So far the general donation fund contains $5. If more comes in, you'll get a chance to pick new poetry to publish. Otherwise you'll be deciding whether to route this The general fund currently has $45 so there will be polling to determine what poems to publish; you can also choose to fund the ongoing epics, "
RUT?" or "
A Periodic Table of Elementals." I plan to write the donor perk-post shortly. The donor perk post is online.
Donors for July include:

red_trillium, and
the_vulture. A big round of applause for new donors
red_trillium and
the_vulture! Interestingly both of them are new fishbowl sponsors but had provided other support previously, so my activities are starting to cross-pollinate. Thank you all for your generosity.
