I didn't forget about Pimsleur.
I seriously doubt that anybody is waiting around for me to post more notes about Pimsleur Russian. But in case there is anyone: I haven't forgotten about it nor grown bored with it. Imperfective and Perfective verbs
This is what has been occupying my thoughts lately. I keep having to look them up and keep getting frustrated when I'm not sure if a verb is perfective or imperfective and the dictionary at hand doesn't specify that! What to do?
My grammar book, if I have understood , lists the Imperfective first, then the Perfective.Is this the usual form, in, ( Read more... ) -
Weirdo Dative Stuff!
Таня не говорила Лене, а говорила Мише. OK...what does it mean-?????
Tanya did not speak to Lena, but Misha.
Well......It can't be this because the names Лене & Мише are in dative and not accusative cases.
Why are these names indirect objects? What's the direct object? Something invisible?

Use of accusative case here.
Well, this is interesting.
Here is a sentence:
Кевин очень спешит,его ждёт такси.(Kevin's in a hurry,the taxi's waiting)
Okay..then we have:
Преподавательница очень спешит, её ждут студенты.(Is this correct? The teacher is in a hurry, the ctudents are waiting for her.)
So, I think it will be: Её ждут студенты. Students ( Read more... ) -

Happiness is finishing a textbook
I feel so glad that I've finished Volume 1 of the book "Live from Russia". I hope to start Volume 2 soon.In the meantime I am using a site called Flashcard Exchange to study vocabulary. http://www.flashcardexchange.com/tag/russian

I am quite sure that this was not done in order to soothe the frayed nerves of Russian language students. We are simply enjoying the benefits of some other endeavor. I'm just really glad about this, whatever the reason!
I am talking about some of the "imported foreign words" that don't decline. Oooooooooooooo, what a big relief they are! Whew!
