I've come to the point in sock knitting where I've settled on some favorite techniques - ones that are both interesting to knit and produce results I like. To wit:

• Toe-up
  
• Using Judy Becker's Magic Cast-on.
  
• Incorporating gussets, wrap-and-turn short-row heels and slip-stitch heel flaps.

I'm making Hazel Carter's Violets By The River shawl. I'm done with the center section and am now moving on to do the wide band of Running River/Old Shale edging around the shorter two sides of the triangle. I haven't posted in a while, so I thought I'd make a little post with an FO I did for the mittenswap. I had tried a few different things, but finally I decided to make the ultra-cute Squirrely Swedish Fair Isle Mittens (pdf). These were really fun to knit.

I've started making the bubbles blankie in Mission Falls 1824 (superwash) wool and it's my first attempt at intarsia.

It was a hooded shawl for a baby (due any day now) and you can have the pleasure(?) of seeing pictures of it.

I'm looking for an attractive, stretchy bind-off for the tops of my Monkey socks. I am using handspun to knit the socks, so I did a provisional cast-on when I started, so I would have the opportunity to use a different yarn if need be for the ribbing.
