Peter starting talking today.  He's been yelling quite purposely for awhile, but today he repeated "bah bah bah" over and over.  It's just astounding to see how quickly he learns.  I thought computer learning algorithms were impressive, but this is far cooler.

Now both the bottom teeth have poked through! People told me they'd come together, but I didn't realize they'd show up within 24 hours of each other! They're sharp little buggers, too.

Peter has been awfully cranky for the past two weeks (at least in the house--outside, he flirts with everyone he finds), and I was glad to discover the reason for it this morning--a little, sharp white line in his lower gum ( Read more... )

I finally downloaded a client to post entries more easily.  I think that if the basic LJ form included choice of journal/community on the simple page, I wouldn't have bothered, but I got tired of having to click to extend the options.  I doubt I'm suddenly going to post 3 times a day now, but who knows.

Peter must have decided to see how many milestones he could hit this past weekend. On Friday, he stood by my parents' coffee table for around 20 seconds a couple times. Then he did it again yesterday. On Monday, he sat in the grass for at least 30 seconds without falling over. If I put him in my lap, he'll sit quite a while. Today, he rolled ( Read more... )

I really am a stay-at-home-mom now--we have a vegetable garden! Admittedly, I couldn't get around to planting anything myself--I needed the help of my 86 year old grandfather coming and transplanting huge spadefuls of hostas and dirt and ferns. Today I saw a friend's 5 day old baby. He's nearly identical in size to Peter at birth-- just over 9 lbs, 22", 14.5" head. He looked tiny!! We held Peter up next to him and he seemed monstrous. According to my parents' scale, Peter's nearly 18 lbs, so it makes sense, but really, when did all this growing happen? I can't believe that at almost ( Read more... )
