Makes me nervous...
A Continental flight out of New York crashed last night. We're flying Continental to New York in two weeks. And I KNOW, the first has nothing to do with the second, but it just gives me pause. I don't want that to be me on the news. And I really don't want it to be my kids. I'm feeling anxious now about the trip.

Why do I always cry at weddings?
I went to a friend's wedding over the weekend and it was lovely, a beautiful location, a beautiful service, but man, the moment I saw the bride step out of the car the waterworks started, and didn't let up until the service had ended and we physically left the location. I went to the supermarket today and bought cling wrap, used it tonight and found that it tears upward. Really? We're going to differ on that? Because for the last 20 years I've been tearing downward. That's what I'm used to. In Aus we tear our cling wrap downward.

I've got my Mum visiting from Australia at the moment. And it's Thanksgiving in the US tomorrow. She's all excited about being over here for Thanksgiving because it's a big holiday and an occasion we don't celebrate in Aus, so she wants us to join in and celebrate the day big time ( Read more... )
