5 weeks of ICU left to go (out of 14 consecutive ones). It has now officially started sucking my soul. I was fine up until week 9. What's worse is that they put me on Saturday call for two weekends (I just did one, and my next one is the weekend after this coming one), which means I basically work for 12 days in a row. I've worked 60 hours since Friday in the ICU (two 30-hour call days Friday and Sunday), and I have 60 more to go--tomorrow and then Thursday. However, I am having a better Christmas than my patients, so I am trying to keep things in perspective even though I'm fucking tired. Merry Christmas everyone! Life is short, don't waste it.

On my ENT rotation, one of the surgeons' admin assistant, C, was always saying stuff like, "If I was younger, I'd be all over you." She is totally nice and sweet and we get along famously. There's a weekend workshop this weekend (Lindy Hop). I didn't go to the workshops, but I was invited to the dance (which, for some odd reason was from 8-10pm. Why, I have no idea.) It's only Tuesday and I finish this rotation on Friday, but I'm already mentally in vacation mode. I have 10 days off coming up and well...I really  need it. Unfortunately, I didn't plan anything because money is tight, but I feel like I should do something so that I don't just fritter away my time online and watching mindless movies for a week.

I often go through "glass half-full" and "glass half-empty" phases. I find it's easier to see the glass as half-empty, possibly because I tend to look at where I want to be, rather than where I've come from. This evening seemed like an empty glass night.
