Ashes time
Bloody hell! I knew the Ashes were coming up really soon, but I hadn't realised till about 3 this afternoon that it was tonight. Underbelly: Tale of Two Cities
More thoughts on cop/crime tv later, I hope, but at the moment I'm watching the Underbelly prequel, because I didn't watch Underbelly on tv but later found out that it really was actually good. While I do fear sequelitis, I hope that U:ToTC will have all the qualities of the first series, plus SEVENTIES/EIGHTIES FASHION AND MUSIC! -
Vastly different things
Disconcerting to have missed a day of news, and the unusually-bad 14 dead in bushfires news (that I was also taken by surprise by, on Saturday) suddenly becoming 130+. Somewhat astonishing to me is the Queen ("of Australia") noticing and making a statement ( Read more... ) -

Arrived in Brisbane. All well, except I still have a cold, and I left my camera at home.
Brisbane lovely and warm. A little too warm, on occasions, but that's my fault for not wearing shorts. Have done some random wandering around,had a nice visit to the new Gallery of Modern Art, went for a walk up in the Glasshouse mountains, met human_contact, been inducted ( Read more... )
