Well. I just have to admit it. I'm a terrible online friend, or even lurker.
My life has just reached a point where I really can't keep up outside of my physical world. Between work, two aging parents, and most recently a partner who has been spending more time in a hospital than out, I just can't seem to keep up. I'm so thankful for the friendship ( Read more... ) -

Day after day, week after week, for nearly three years I've been taking a wide range of meds that all have the ultimate goal of keeping "little Jamie", my donor kidney happy in his new home. My transplant team was very pro-active in making sure that we understood our medication regimen and closely watched doses and times.

I'm melting. Melting!!!
I've come to the conclusion after spending a week in Virginia with no power, storms, and 90-104F days with 80-90% humidity that all these idyllic depictions of new-world settlers in woodcuts, paintings, drawings etc. were bull...er baloney. Call it one of the first documented cases of 'spin'. -

Return to normal (?)
I finally gave him (my kidney donor) a hug without nearly being reduced to tears. I'm returning to seeing him as Jamie, the lovable goofy lug who looked in my eyes two years ago and said, "I couldn't imagine the concept of a world without Cary."
It only took me two damn years.
Still don't know what I did to deserve such a gift. But I'm here, and I' ( Read more... ) -

Haven't really had the time or energy for my barely-started Transplant Project. Right now I've been stuck in this endless loop of work, work and Greg.
