Matt's Birthday!
Matt's 25th birthday ( I know, he's a baby!) was on Tuesday. However, both of us had to work, so I made his cake last weekend. About 3 years ago, I had purchased a Harry Potter cake pan from Wilton. However, this is Matt's first birthday here in the States, so I finally was able to make it! Here it is!

OMG Fabric and Storage Auctions!!! SQUEE!
My dad runs a mini storage business. I don't know how many of you are familar with storage unit auctions, but bascially - someone is very delinquent on payments, and to recoop the losses, the business with auction off the contents of the unit to the highest bidder. My First Paid Sewing Job!
I had a co-worker ask me if I could make welding caps for her boyfriend. I had no idea what she was talking about. So, she brought me in a manky one that he had been using. I first tried making a pattern by tracing the hat that she had given me... No go, even after much adjustments. I found a Simplicity pattern for winter hats, and it worked ( Read more... ) -
Yay for Yardsales!!
My step mom stopped by my house the other day with 5 yards of fabric that she bought for $1 at a yardsale. I wasn't crazy about the fabric at first, but with the right pattern, and the right contrast color, I think this dress turned out really cute. :) Yet another one for my niece's birthday.

Jennifer's Easter Dress
I made this dress for my older niece for Easter. I had originally bought a McCalls pattern. Once I started cutting it out, I realized I really didn't care for it. So, I went back to my Simplicity pattern, and just changed the top. I think it turned out pretty cute. The bodice was a bit harder than the others I've done because of the lining, ( Read more... ) -
England! I nearly forgot!
So, those of you who have me on Facebook, I'm sure already know this, but for those of you who don't... Matt and I will be leaving for England on May 11th. We'll be back the 25th. Thank Goodness for seam rippers...
I'm making another dress. The skirt is comprised of 7 pieces. 3 for the front and front sides. And 4 for the back and back sides. Guess which ones I sewed to the wrong bits? Yup, the back sides, with 3 seams to rip out.

Dresses
I've moved on to more complicated patterns for dresses. I made a few sun dresses for the nieces, but then I found this pattern that I just fell in love with. So I made one in a size 3 for the little niece, and a size 12 for the older one :)

Pants!
I have now made pants. I could make pajama pants and a scrub top and have damn near a whole outfit! These were for Matt :) He's modeling, but wouldn't let me do a whole body shot, lol!
