Might I just say that I hate summer, especially when stuck in the city. I took a cold shower this morning after I got up and I NEVER sleep well in this heat. Add to the heat my standard "want to be in wilds!" that comes along every summer (and occasionally fall... and winter... and spring) and I'm not a terribly fun person to be around right now.

Waking up with migraines sucks. On the bright side, taking 10 mg Maxalt and pulling the covers over my head for 4 hours seems to have helped. Still horribly weak so 800 mg IB plus a new book made an acceptable use of the afternoon. Note to self: more tea.

D teases me that I freeze EVERYTHING. I don't, just to get that cleared up. But going through the freezer I came across some pork that was just over a year old (dated: 5/20/09). It was a little freezer burned, ok maybe a lot. Having never cooked freezer burned meat I decided to give it a try ( Read more... )

Desktop is officially br0k3n I do believe. Specifically when I tried to open "My Computer" I had to force quit my way out of the window and the whole menu interface died. The three finger salute had no effect and I had to yank the power. The machine has been having issues in the past with the USB ports failing in progressively shorter and shorter ( Read more... )

My family hasn't had dogs in a long time and they were old by the time I was 10. I keep being amazed at how much pup wants to be next to his person. D is preferred but I am an acceptable substitute. As I'm sure many of you know I'm going to bike from Eugene, OR to as far south as we can get in two weeks. I have delusions of making it down to Irvine, CA (1200 miles) but am more realistically hoping for Santa Barbra (1000 miles).
