It was hard. Tegoshi wanted to jump. He wanted to give his heart to Yamapi but he couldn’t kill himself. He knew that Yamapi wouldn’t want that. He wouldn’t want Tegoshi’s heart because they were best friends or at very least friends. He wanted to jump but he couldn’t.
The door soon opened and Masuda saw Tegoshi by the corner of the roof, “Tego-nyan?”
Tegoshi flinched at the sound of a familiar voice. His eyes tearing up, he decided it was now or never and he let himself fall to the ground.
He heard a brief shouting of Tegoshiiiiiiii!! but he just closed his eyes, praying that this time whatever happens, he gives Yamapi the thing that he wanted to give him most; his heart.
I’ve never been so happy in my life. I always knew that Yamapi was the one for me; if I can’t have him then I better give him a life. I’ll be fine. I always am. ~~
A loud thump was heard by the parking lot and they saw Tegoshi’s body lying flat on the floor. Blood was everywhere but he still had a heart beat.
Doctors quickly put him into a gurney and took him in the OR, trying to repair the damage that was done to his body.
Meanwhile, Masuda ran towards Yamapi’s room and pulled the door happen. Panting, he said, “Taihen! . . . Te. .Tegoshi jumped off the roof.”
A couple of loud gasps were heard as they all ran outside the room and headed for the OR. They tried to get attention from the nurses but most of them were too busy and didn’t pay attention to them.
Yamapi spotted one of the doctors he knew and shouted, “Aizawa-sensei!”
Aizawa turned around and faced Yamapi, “What is it? You’re admitted right? You shouldn’t be here. You should go back to your room and rest.”
Yamapi shook his head. With tears falling from his eyes, he looked over to the operating room.
Tegoshi, why did you do this….I really hope you’ll make it. Tegoshi, please be safe. ~
Probably due to stress, Yamapi collapsed. Luckily, Ryo was able to catch him and bring him back to his room. The rest of the people were left there by the waiting area.
“Masuda, Can you please sit down? I’m getting dizzy from all your pacing back and forth,” said Keichiro.
Masuda sighed and sat down beside Jin. “I’m scared. I’m scared that Tegoshi will die without me being able to tell him how I feel for him. Kami-sama, I’ll do everything I can but please save Tegoshi,” whispered Masuda.
They waited for a few hours. When the doctor finally came out, they all rushed to the doctor wanting to hear about Tegoshi.
“Sensei, is he going to be okay?” asked Keichiro.
“Did he make it?” asked Shigeaki.
“Does he have permanent damage?” asked Nakamaru.
The doctor sighed and said, “Tegoshi-kun is fine. He needs to be admitted to the ICU for pre-cautions but he will be okay. We will know what the result of the surgery is when he wakes up.”
The doctor took a bow and left. His friends were all happy, they were smiling with joy. They were so happy that Tegoshi made it.
Back in the room, Ryo watched the peaceful face of Yamapi. He knew It was selfish of him but a part of him hoped that someone could be announced brain dead and would give their heart to Yamapi. He had only lived a few years and not even a month with Ryo. How can he die so easily?
Jin rushed back into Yamapi’s room. Of course, he was worried about his best friend but at the same time he didn’t want to see Yamapi. He didn’t want to see his best friend thinking that this may be the last time that he ever sees him.
“Kazuya, I’m scared. I’m scared that Yamapi is going to die and leave me,” says Jin.
Kazuya patted Jin’s back and watched as his lover cried.
“I don’t want him to go,” cried Jin.
Ryo heard each word that Jin said. It was painful. Yamapi was his friend, his best friend, his lover and the only one he will ever love. How could he lose him just like that?
Without warning, Ryo ran out of the room and passed by a very happy Shiraishi-sensei.
He was so furious how the doctor could smile so easily when he felt like his everything was just taken away from him.
“Nishikido-san, I have good news!” said the young doctor.
GOOD NEWS?! WHAT NEWS COULD POSSIBLY BE GOOD RIGHT NOW?!~
“I’ve found someone willing to donate a heart to Yamashita-san,” smiled Shiraishi-sensei.
“Na. . .Na . . . . Nani?” asked Ryo.
“He’s not going anywhere. He’s going to be fine and stay with us. Yamashita-san is going to survive.” The doctor smiled and patted Ryo’s back. “He’s not leaving you yet Nishikido-san.”
“Arienai .I can’t believe this. Is this real?” asked Ryo.
The doctor nodded and smiled at Ryo.
Ryo couldn’t believe his ears. One minute, he was crying but the next he was ecstatic.
He ran as fast as his legs could carry him over to Yamapi’s room and closed the door with a loud bang.
Yamapi woke up from the loud sound and was about to ask Ryo what happened when the man hugged him. He hugged him with tears and smiles.
“Yamapi, Shiraishi-sensei just told me that someone has agreed to give you their heart. You’re not going anywhere without me Yamapi. You’re going to be fine.”
Shocked, Yamapi’s eyes overflowed with tears. “Is. . .Is it true? I’m . . . I’m finally going to be able to get a heart?”
Ryo nodded and smiled at Yamapi. His heart was light and happy but he knew deep inside that he had another thing to fix. He had to go talk to Tegoshi.
He kissed Yamapi lightly on the lips and told him that he’ll be back in a few minutes.
He rushed over to Tegoshi’s room only to see the rest TTUN of KATTUN outside.
“What’s wrong with Tegoshi?” asked Ryo.
Ueda shook his head and sighed, “Just go and see for yourself.”
Ryo passed by Ueda and entered the door only to be met by the sad faces of Shigeaki and the other NEWS members.
“W. .what happened?” asked Ryo.
They all looked at Tegoshi who was absent mindedly playing with his blanket.
“Masu-chan? Who is this guy?” asked Tegoshi.
Ryo looked at Tegoshi dumbstruck. “Are you kidding?! What the fuck Tegoshi?! It’s not the time for your games!”
Tegoshi started to cry. He hid his head behind the blanket and cried, “Masu-chan. . .I don’t like this guy.”
“HE’S NOT KIDDING RYO! He hit his head pretty bad and got a bad case of amnesia. The doctor said he’s memory may not even come back anymore. As far as his memory goes, he thinks he’s still a kid.”
“B. .bu. . .But! Yamapi’s getting a heart and he wants to see Tegoshi. He can’t be under any kind of stress. How am I supposed to tell him that the guy whose heart he had broken, who committed suicide just to save him now had amnesia?” Ryo was pacing now. He had no clue what to tell Yamapi.
Looking at Tegoshi, Ryo apologized, “Gomenasai. I really didn’t mean to shout at you. I’m Nishikido Ryo. I’m your band mate.”
Tegoshi looked at him and nodded. “Masu-chan, I’m tired. I want to sleep.”
“Wakatta yo. Just go to sleep,” said Masuda. He fixed Tegoshi’s comforter and told Ryo to go for a while.
Ryo could hardly believe what happened to Tegoshi. It’s good that he’s safe but amnesia?! That’s really too much.
Instead of talking to the other people there, Ryo decided to go Yamapi instead. He still had to figure out how to tell Yamapi about Tegoshi.
Sighing, Ryo opened the door only to find Yamapi’s breathing start to become staggered. Ryo immediately ran forward to Yamapi and started to hold his hand but Yamapi’s hands were cold.
He ran out of the door and shouted, “Nurse! He’s not breathing!”
Nurses ran towards the room and pressed the button calling a code. Doctors quickly rushed into his room and started checking for his pulse.
“Push 1cc of epinephrine!” says Shiraishi-sensei.
There was no change in Yamapi’s heartbeat so Shiraishi-sensei had to use the paddles to try and shock him back to life.
“PADDLES!” shouted the doctor.
Ryo watched as they worked on Yamapi’s body, trying to bring him back to life. Nurses and doctors surrounded Yamapi and pushed Ryo out of the way. More medicine was given to Yamapi.
“Charge to 200!” says Shiraishi-sensei.
“Clear!” tugshhh~
Yamapi’s body arched of the bed but his heart still doesn’t have a beat.
“300! Clear!”
Once again Yamapi’s body arched of the bed but still there was no response.
“360! Clear!”
Ryo started to cry at the sight of Yamapi’s body arching to each of the shock. How he wished that he could just be the one to suffer that kind of treatment.
Just as the doctor was about to give up and take out the intubation, a faint sound was heard.
Beep beep beep~
“He’s back,” sighed the doctor. He patted Yamapi’s shoulder and said, “Yokatta.”
“Nurse! Go prep Yamashita-san for the surgery, he can’t wait another day.”
Nurses that surrounded the area bowed and nodded. They were starting to get him ready when Yamapi reached out for Ryo’s hand and held it tight. Ryo took both Yamapi’s held and gave them one last kiss, “I’ll be here when you wake up. I’ll be waiting for you Yamapi. Don’t you dare leave me alone! I still need you here with me.”
Yamapi squeezed Ryo’s hands tighter and looked into his eyes.
I’m not going to leave you Ryo-chan. I’ll fight as hard as I can. I want to always be with you. ~
The nurses finally took him away, leaving Ryo in tears. Jin came back to the room and saw as they started to take Yamapi into the operating room.
He patted Ryo’s back and said, “Don’t worry about Yamapi. He’ll make it. He always makes it!”
“I love him, Jin. I can’t live without him,” cried Ryo.
“I know. Don’t worry! Come on, let’s go wait for him at the waiting station.”
Jin led Ryo down the unbearably long aisle and finally took a seat near the operating room. He knew that Ryo wanted to be near the room so that he could get updates often.
A few hours passed but there was still no word about Yamapi. He paced back and forth until his legs were sore and tired but he didn’t care. He couldn’t be distracted so he sat down for a while then stood back up to continue his pacing in front of the door.
Jin stood up and placed his hand on Ryo’s shoulder, “Come sit. You look so tired you could pass out. Don’t worry about Yamapi. I’m worried too but pacing won’t help. Let’s just calm down for a while.”
Ryo looked over at Jin and saw the sadness in his eyes. Of course Jin would be worried, Yamapi was his best friend and at that moment Ryo was glad to have Jin beside him. He felt the comfort that he wanted but he still needed Yamapi beside him.
A couple more hours passed and there was still no news. Ryo wanted to go in the operating room already. The worry was eating him up. He really wanted to see Yamapi, talk to him, hold him and be with him.
Lord I know I’m not exactly a good person and I don’t deserve to be listened to but please save Yamapi. I really don’t know what I’ll do without him.~
After a few more minutes, the doctors went out the operating room and said, “The family of Yamashita-san?”
Ryo stood up and went over to them, “I’m here. How’s Pi?”
The doctor smiled at him and said, “The operation was a success. He’ll be dizzy once he wakes up and may not even make sense but that’s because of his anesthesia. He’ll be fine.”
Ryo was shocked. He was really thankful and very happy. He couldn’t even utter a word.
Jin on the hand sighed in relief. “I always knew he’d make it. He’s a very strong guy. He always makes it through.”
Ryo ran over to the room where Yamapi was sent to after the operation. As Ryo looked at him, he felt his heart tug. Yamapi lay down there looking all peaceful.
He couldn’t wait for Yamapi to wake up. He wanted Yamapi to open his eyes right now and tell Ryo personally that he’s fine.
Ryo sat beside Yamapi’s bed stroking Yamapi’s hair at times. He would also hold his hand through the night.
After a few days, Yamapi finally woke up. As soon as he opened his eyes, he saw Ryo’s face with tears and he felt peaceful. He knew that he could finally be with him forever.
