Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?
I wrote lesser fics compared to last year but more as far as word count is concerned. The number of fics though isn't too far from what I expected. I already knew I wouldn't be able to write as much as I did in 2012 or 2013 because of real life things but I'm glad I surpassed my last year's word count! I'm counting only fics posted on jiuzhu though for this year's meme XD
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January?
The EXO/BTS crack fic is the one that I never expected the most. It's all because somebody (*ehem*Ree*ehem*) wanted me to write one. It was enjoyable though and a lot of people from AO3 seem to like it so it's totally great. Plus I noticed that I wrote lesser Junmyeon/Kyungsoo this year. Maybe because I tried to diversify? I'm not really quite sure if I succeeded though.
What's your own favorite story of the year?
I think it'd be I’m Coming Here To Stay. I enjoyed writing it so much! I loved the idea of Junmyeon and Kyungsoo touring around Manila although there isn't really much to see in the city. My recipient (it's a fic for suholiday) even said that I have "given Manila justice, maybe even more than it deserves." It was also my first fic where it felt balanced? Like just the right amount of fluff and cheese and romance in a more realistic timeline. I also like Seoul Mates. It's the EXO/BTS fic maybe because it's the only English crack fic I wrote and I actually think it's funny? Well, Ree enjoyed it (I guess?) so I have a reason to like it, too.
Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?
Harcourt is the most extensive I've written for this year. Not to mention it's almost 24,000 words, a little over 2,000 words longer than my longest fic in 2013. I've always written many AUs but fantasy isn't really my forte so I'm quite surprised I wrote that much. But hey! This made me realize I can actually write a fantasy fic! I'm not that really fond of winged people AUs (unless it's an angel versus demon thing) (and at least it isn't merpeople AU which I don't sort of like) but surprisingly I enjoyed writing this one. Also, Todo está Bien, a Yifan/Kyungsoo fic isn't an easy one. I have it based off of an episode of Scandal but I had sort of a hard time internalizing Kyungsoo's character here that it came off a bit different from her supposed role in the series. Not that it was bad because I personally think the story still made sense even if it deviated from her original character. I'm actually glad I wrote this one. If I remember correctly, this fic was the first of my new writing style. Since this, my fic has become a lot more emotions-based and descriptive. Although I know this isn't quite popular among readers (that, or fics like this have a different target audience) I still enjoy writing fics in this style.

Improve. Write more. Finish WIPs. Diversify in genres and pairs!

My best story of this year: I'm not really sure. I think it's I’m Coming Here To Stay.
My most popular story of this year: Well, not counting the last chapter of Big4AU, I think it's Seoul Mates. It's not quite popular when I posted it on LJ and AFF but on AO3, a lot of people liked it!
Most fun story to write: I’m Coming Here To Stay! Am I being too obvious with my favorite? Haha. I really enjoyed writing this.
Story with the single sexiest moment: I've always liked the part where Junmyeon blowed Kyungsoo in A Piece of You. The part where they're doing 69 is also a favorite.
Most "holy crap, that's wrong, even for you" story: Letter To Heaven. It's short. Go read it and realize why it's "wrong".
Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters: I've mentioned this in my previous end of year meme (because I wrote it mostly in 2013 but completed in 2014 so I think it should be here and not last year) but Circle Game made me like Minseok more. This is my very first fic with Minseok as a main character and after this I realized he's actually fun to write? I thought he's gonna be hard to characterize but turns out it isn't that difficult.
Hardest story to write: Todo está Bien because yeah as I mentioned earlier it's based off of a Scandal episode.
Biggest surprise: Harcourt! The word count. Plus it's Junmyeon/Jongin again! I actually ask myself why my Junmyeon/Jongin fics are the longest.
Most unintentionally telling story: Unless I Feel You Next To Me I guess? Especially the dialogues at the end.
Favorite Opening Lines / Introductions:
(Unless I Feel You Next To Me) The nostalgia of mornings is what fills Kyungsoo’s chest everytime he spends them out in the hospital gardens. It’s his usual start of the day, except when it gets rainy and he stays in his room, wheelchair pulled in front of the window as he watches raindrops hit glass in a rhythm. He likes it, too, the wet weather, but he likes sunshines more.
(Seoul Mates) "Dude," Yoongi says, looking at Seokjin from the bed with an apparent pity on his face. "Congratulations. We’ve reached a new Seokjin-level of desperation."
(I'm Coming Here To Stay) Vacations are supposed to happen during summer, or at least according to Junmyeon’s planner. This means his stay here in Manila is unplanned, totally out of his schedules. He’s supposed to be finishing a new project in his office at the perceived comforts of his desk 1,628 miles away from where he is right now. Yet on a Monday of February he finds himself in a hotel’s restaurant at eight in the morning, a cup of coffee, bread and butter on his table.
(A Piece of You) Kyungsoo is a prince with so much free time in his hands. He's the third and youngest son of the duke which means he's basically more of a display than a politician with actual roles. He spends most of them strolling around the castle grounds, or horseback riding at the outskirts of a nearby forest, hunting wild animals or just enjoying the lush of green.
Favorite Closing Lines:
(Unless I Feel You Next To Me) Besides, mornings are always a perfect time for a new start.
(Letter To Heaven) When he seals it, he opens a drawer of unsent letters and puts it on top of them. He closes the drawer slowly.
(I'm Coming Here To Stay) Junmyeon feels his heart race. When he smiles, he shakes a little but in a good way. It probably is time to revel on this newfound fact that he’s completely grown comfortable with Kyungsoo’s company. When he said to himself he only likes Kyungsoo’s kickass smartness, he thought it would just be a temporary fondness for some words that send him thinking. Thoughts he doesn’t normally reflect on only because no one’s spoken to him that way until Kyungsoo. Now Junmyeon’s gone beyond words and although he is yet to actually admit it to himself, he has liked more than what Kyungsoo says and does.
He’s moving at a quicker pace, fast for his liking, but he thinks it isn’t a bad thing either.
Favorite 5 Line(s) from Anywhere:
(Hold Me. For The Kids.) "No dude. Like seriously this is so different!" Baekhyun half exclaims half pleads at Chanyeol over the phone while carrying a crying Zitao. He winces when the child cries louder because the LEGO blocks Baekhyun has formed into a car earlier break on his hands.
"I can sense it," Chanyeol says sympathetically. "But really bro, I'm sorry. I can't right now. I have a date in like thirty minutes."
"Okay I get it I get-SEHUN DON'T EAT CRAYONS!"
"That kid is cool. Crayons taste like candles," Chanyeol kids, earning an annoyed hiss from Baekhyun. How does he even know how crayons taste like? He wishes Chanyeol hasn't done the same thing otherwise he'll judge his friend ultra mega hard.
(Harcourt) “You worry too much,” Junmyeon says.
Jongin shakes his head. “Because you’re gonna hurt yourself.”
“And you say I worry too much.” The chuckle Junmyeon does is just of pure amusement. Jongin tries to look beyond those small, sweet laugh that slip past Junmyeon’s lips but he can’t see a tinge of fear. Maybe there’s worry when he bites on his lower lip and sighs but still with a smile on his face.
(Unless I Feel You Next To Me) "No! No I mean... yes like. I said no? And yes? Sort of. I mean... I said I can take care of you of course. I think I've been kinda doing a bit of it maybe? Since I first visited you months ago but I said," Junmyeon pauses. He sighs, a little lost at first, obviously gun-shy, too, but he speaks again. "I said that I'm not gonna do it because he asked me to do so. I'm gonna take care of you because…”
Junmyeon trails off again, this time a lot more hesitant to continue, but Kyungsoo locks his eyes on him, waiting for his words and he’s trapped. Junmyeon’s heart is pounding fast and he thinks he might really need a glass of water before he passes out. He sighs heavily and resolves that he should really say it all; he’s already started it anyway.
“Because I really want to take care of you, Kyungsoo."
(Seoul Mates) "This is not just a thing, Yoongi. This is my future!" Seokjin defends as he points his digi-pen at Yoongi. "Those expired three days ago by the way."
Yoong’s eyes widen and chokes, almost throwing up as he scrambles off his bed. “I’m gonna pee on everything dear to you,” he grunts grudgingly, a hand over his mouth, and Seokjin simply dismisses it with a chuckle.
(What Do I Do Now?) Baekhyun remembers praying for Jongdae to stay alive.
Not all prayers get answered after all.
