Family Update - or - Floor Was The Only Thing I Laid Last Weekend
Dad's cancer has not metasticized, and is confined to a 3 cm spot on his lung. It's also one of the less aggressive kinds, so they're talking surgery, probably to remove the node the cancer is on but probably no follow-on chemo or radiation. He'd be laid up for 4 weeks or so before he could get back in a skid loader, but that's pretty darn good ( Read more... ) -

Furlough-Week 1 -or- why "May your life be interesting" is a curse
So I'm on furlough from Cessna for three weeks. I really shouldn't complain, because there are many, many people who got it worse from Cessna, but it's still weird not only not going to work, but being legally unable to go to work or even call to see what's going on.
