Depending how much attention you pay to these things, you may or may not have noticed the Amazon/Macmillan spat going on at the moment (I only noticed because I follow Brandon Sanderson's blog) - as far as I can tell, Macmillan want more flexibility in ebook pricing and Amazon, for whatever reason, doesn't want to give it to them. Still in New Zealand, still having a great time... not doing so well in terms of employment, but enjoying myself. So, I've been in New Zealand for the last month, and I'm having a great time. Back in Britain
I had a great time in Fougeré (not Fougeres, that's somewhere else) - I spent most of my time doing random tasks like mowing lots of lawns, cleaning garden chairs and walking Meg, the farm's gorgeous and very intelligent border collie, and in return was very very well fed! WWOOFing
In a stroke of amazing luck, I've found a place where I can WWOOF for the next week and a half. Apparently the couple who were due to come here just cancelled, so the host contacted me instead to find out if I was still interested... you bet I was! Change of Plans
First and possibly most importantly, I saw a red squirrel a few days ago! It was a wild squirrel and it was just sitting there on the road to the campsite, looking at me! Then it ran away, because it wasn't tame like the ones on campus. But it was so gorgeous!

Things are looking up
Well, I had fun in Paris - I spent a day cycling around fairly aimlessly, looking at things. I didn't actually go anywhere famous or historic, although I think I was fairly close to Notre Dame a few times. But the weather was nice, the streets were interesting, and the traffic was crazy. Well, we're off!
A long day of travelling and I've arrived in Paris, hot and tired and fairly convinced that this was a very bad idea. I suspect it's a bit early to crawl home with my tail between my legs yet though.

I am a fish with no exams
Eheheheh, all done. I sat my last exam this morning, I am officially finished with this degree. A Masters in Pure Mathematics with First Class Honours is mine. Prancing around in cap and gown (aka graduation) is still nearly two months away, but currently the next three and a half weeks stretch in front of me, gloriously empty and full of free ( Read more... )
