My upstairs neighbor, bless his sweet little head, installed software on his computer which activates the camera when motion's detected.  He caught the landlord's entire conversation with the Realtors on camera!  The part where he lies to them about the bedroom additions on the place being legal construction is hilarious ( Read more... )

Tonight I learned that, during the Great Depression, my Oma would make 12 dozen doughnuts every single morning (except Sundays).  She took those doughnuts to the market every single morning and would trade them against her grocery bill.  After the Depression ended, she never made so much as one more.  Looking back, I can't recall ever seeing her ( Read more... )

Today's doctor visit was encouraging.  Staples removed (oh, ouch), fracture boot to replace the splint-and-bandage combo, and a bone stimulator.  I'm to start doing gentle ankle range of motion exercises now.

My estimated return to work date?  November 1.  Ack.

For the very first time, my 16-lb. lump of furry love sponge, my not-a-lap-cat cat?  Curled up on me for snuggles. 

Another good day under my belt.

I saw my doctor for my first follow-up visit yesterday.  Really, I couldn't ask for a better group of people to be working with; it's almost as though I've won the doctor lottery here (my primary care physician is amazing, too).  I got my first look at post-op x-rays, and boy, do I have a lot of hardware going on:  ( Read more... )
