I used to think the former, but the context in which most of his works were written has me thinking the latter.

Everyone has a price. Most people can pretend they don't, that they're better than that, but most people have never seen more than a few thousand dollars in cash. I hate chemistry. Seriously, this class is becoming the thorn in my side of this semester.

On a brighter, more pleasant note, my scene is coming along nicely. I'm doing a prequel to the dialogue I turned in earlier. I may be guilty of retconning a few things, but I'm okay with that.

Friends, Americans, countrymen, lend me your ears; I'm feeling très uninspired. My muse must have caught the Deathlung Avian Flu of Doom that's going around. I need to have a short (4-8 page) scene written by Tuesday. So, I'm writing about a girl named Ada and a robot named Galatea and an ornery old barkeeper named Deuce X. McKenna, and i'm doing research on strong A.I. on Wikipedia to make sure I have my facts at least believable if not right, and I start reading about the Turing test and such, and then I get into the "Chinese Room" thought experiment.
