I just finished listening to Thread of Grace by Mary Doria Russel. I highly recommend both the book and the audiobook (which is very well read). chocolate
i don't miss it as much as i'd have guessed,
but sometimes i have the deepest craving tucked in my tummy for a lusciously moist slice of chocolate buttermilk cake with ganache frosting and a few raspberries on top. i have a killer recipe. atleast i can still enjoy the smell, that's half of taste or more anyway. but, sigh, sometimes i miss -

small satisfactions
i am drying tiny plates of herbs from our garden on the top of my refrigerator: chamomile, oregano, rosemary. after many years, i've finally acquired a taste for chamomile, and after an ongoing battle with aphids, had my first cup of tea from fresh the flowers a few days ago. Seattle Pride 2010
+ Seeing all the adorable baby queers and the freaks and geeks who were (likely) mercilessly teased in school walking hand-in hand, wearing whatever they wanted with grins on their faces made me feel all warm and melted-chocolate gooey inside.

wedding dreams
i had a dream the other night that we were having a wedding-type celebration. my dress was a boring white number that i didn't like in the dream. but, to the reception i wore an hot pink, vellour footsie-pajamas that resembled an oversized rabbit costume.
