I've given up plastic for Lent again.  And theorectically am blogging about it at http://givingupplastic.blogspot.com though as ever I seem to be a bit erratic in my blogging.

Anyway, today's post is all about straws.  Drinking straws that is.

I accidently made some rather bad soup yesterday.  I had been musing on what kind of soup I would make all through Evensong and knew exactly what I was after - a clear broth with small even chunks of vegetables: potatoes, carrots, leeks...... then wiht some green leaves added at the end.  And maybe a pistou stirred in. I think I may be turning into my (train loving) Dad.

Am on a high speed train to Kent* and am finding it very exciting.

*to Margate in fact, isn't it just the perfect time of year and perfect weather to visit a down at heel British seaside resort.
