I've been very interested in the old Gamma World RPG, and the new one seems cool. But I'm wondering, if anyone would be kind enough to answer, how they're related? Are they based on each other...are the games very different, or very similar? Or they written by the same people, or company? Thanks :)

I discovered this tutorial on how to use Photoshop to create modern-day ruins. This is perfect for an handouts you want for your players, and particularly effective if you're setting it in your hometown.

Has anyone got any resources on random encounters for Gamma World? I don't mean, combats, but more like encounters to evoke the setting, like seeing swarms of giant mutated bees flying past the PCs or an encounter with an old wanderer in the desert who tells the PCs tales of the old days. The pyschic abilities portion of Gamma World is pretty crazy, with it being non-level based and all. Unfortunately, it doesn't have many powers. Here are a few I worked up that are a variation on a theme.
