For her Bronze Award, my daughter planted a veggie garden with all produce going to our local soup kitchen. Today we take them her first harvest of peas - about 2 lbs before shelling. She also planted zucchini, and some of last year's heirloom Golden Girl tomatoes sprouted unexpectedly so they'll be getting lots more veggies in the near future ( Read more... )

I was having a debate the other day with a friend who had earned his Boy Scout Eagle Award. He was saying how the Girl Scout Gold Award didn't require as much and I didn't have enough evidence to win the debate. Our troop is going to Great Wolf Lodge near Williamsburg,VA

as far as packing for the kids for one over night...
2 shirts, shorts, pants, socks, 2 pair underwear, swimsuit (indoor water park), towel (?), sleeping clothes, and tooth brush......am I missing anything??

I have a junior scout and i was looking for some good scrapbooking materials to make her a memory book with her scout pictures she's taken in the past 2 years and maybe a good gift for her that was about scouts....she likes the horseback riding and the crafts we do the most out of anything so do you have any suggestions for gifts?

Today I spent my lunch hour with Maine Senators and Legislatures/Representatives. Our troop was invited to Maine Senate Leader President(Beth Edmonds) to visit her office and to "debate cookies" to determine which cookie is the best.
