Maybe it's the cloudy, dark, rainy weather. I dunno. Or just one of those plateaus we get stuck on now & again. Nothing seems really important to me right now. Lately, since my Mika doggie is feeling better, we've resumed our long walks. I am having to do increasing t'ai chi practice, even getting up in the middle of the night a couple of times, to ease the pain in my hips and low back. Mika doggie is BACK! :D She is her old inquisitive self, and we're back on our walking schedule, too! She is eating her two meals a day eagerly (rice, kibble, tablespoon of canned dog food mixed in warm water with her meds). They have her a different antibiotic that I had to pick up yesterday, saying our regular vet said the one they had given her ( Read more... )

Vets have no clue what happened. :=O They said dogs can have this happen now & again and often they never do find out why. :=O We do not allowed her "people food" at all. I don't let her eat or drink out on walks, except for water I carry. There is just nothing she could have gotten into. She doesn't even go in back yard unless on leash and I would ( Read more... )

In afternoon the vet called, saying Mika might be able to go home...if they could get her to eat and see if she could keep it down. There had been no more blood diarrhea since 1:00 a.m., so they were hopeful she was going to be fine. It was sooooo strange last night, with Mika gone to the vet hospital. :( I would look down from cooking dinner, expecting to see her lying there, "supervising." No Mika. We don't know what's wrong. She started having severe diarrhea and vomiting in the middle of last night and early this morning. She is at the emergency veterinarian clinic and is having all kinds of tests done, and a transfusion for blood loss. They say her blood, urine and diarrhea tests don't show anything wrong with her kidneys or liver. They ( Read more... )

My blood calcium level has NOT changed. :(( It's not going UP, but it's not going down, either. The doc felt that I hadn't been on the estrogen patch long enough. He's giving it another few months and I'll see him again in mid April. At that time, if nothing has changed, he talked of upping the estrogen dosage in the patch. ARRGGGHHHH!
