Weather cleared off nicely yesterday afternoon.  Sunny and warm, then a clear, comfortable evening.  About a dozen friends and family here for food, fun, fireworks--LOTS of them.  I pooped out about 11 and went to bed.  Rest of the roisterers sat out and chatted until quite late, I think ( Read more... )

     It rained most of the morning; made me worried about fireworks display later--since everyone has to work tomorrow (except me and Ian), tonite was the best time for pyrotechnics.  But it cleared off this p.m.and the sun is shining now.  Hope it stays dry for rest of afternoon / evening ( Read more... )

     Into the fourth week of summer school; we finish on Friday, July 8th, so most of it's done.  But I am sprinting to finish--always the case since there's just too much material to cover successfully in a skimpy 5-week session.  Started the Modern and contemporary periods today and will rush to tie it all together.
