part one part two part three part four/five part six part seven part eight part nine/ten He didn’t get a proper chance to talk to Kei until after graduation, sneaking off during the celebrations at Mirai’s house and walking towards Kei’s apartment. When he arrived, Kei let him in with a smile, the two taking a seat on the couch.
“Congratulations on graduating first in your class,” Kei said, opening up his arms for Ryosuke to snuggle into. He did, resting his back against Kei’s chest, sighing in content when he felt a few kisses being pressed to his neck.
“Thank you, I wouldn’t have been able to without you making me study,” he murmured, eyes falling shut as Kei’s hands settled on his hips, his thumbs brushing over the bone and making his shirt ride up. “I wanted to talk to you, about something.”
Kei nodded, and Ryosuke continued, “I understand that you want what’s best for me, and I really appreciate it. You’re a great man Kei, and I don’t know, maybe someday I will go to college, I just can’t now, I love my mother, and I need to be there for her. I’m not entirely happy with this decision, but it’s the decision I’ve decided to make in regards to my future. I hope you can understand that.”
“I’ll try,” Kei gave him a hug, squeezing a little towards the end of it. “Is there anything else you want to talk about?”
“Yes, there is,” Ryosuke turned around, wiggling in Kei’s grasp until he faced him, his head cradled on his chest. “I love you.”
Kei’s breath hitched, and he gently pushed Ryosuke back, looking into his eyes, “Are you sure?”
“Definitely,” Ryosuke said, leaning forward and kissing Kei, just a soft press of lips, “I never would of thought our relationship would get this far, but I’m so happy it did. I know you aren’t pleased with my decisions, but since I’ll still be living in the area, I hope we can stay together.”
Kei stared at him, his expression unreadable, until he said, “Only on one condition.”
“What?”
“Go to junior college, at least,” Ryosuke was about to argue, but Kei stopped him, “It wouldn’t be as time consuming as going to a four-year college, and this way, you’ll be able to remain in school and keep your brain active. It’s easy to forget information once you stop learning, and I don’t want that to happen to you, if you do decide to go to a four-year later in life.”
“I,” Ryosuke paused, looking into Kei’s eyes, his heart skipping a beat when the man leaned over and kissed him. “Okay,” he breathed out, “Only part time though, since I’m working nights at a restaurant in Shibuya.”
“You found a job already?” Kei asked, a little amazed, “Congratulations on that as well.”
Ryosuke thanked him, relieved that their talk had gone so well, and gosh, how stupid was he? He totally forgot about junior college, his mind focusing only on big name schools like Meiji and Waseda. He could manage to go to school a few times a week though, and he planned his work schedule so that his hours matched with his mother's, except he didn’t work nearly as long as her. All in all, this seemed doable, and his mother would only be alone when he was in class, or with Kei.
“There’s a school not too far from your house, I think,” Kei said, interrupting his thoughts, “You might still be able to register, since junior college isn’t as competitive as four-year, and they accept applications much later than them.”
“We can go tomorrow?” Ryosuke asked, grinning as he laid his head back down on Kei’s chest, “If you don’t mind taking me, that is.”
“Not a problem,” Kei’s fingers tangled in his hair, and Ryosuke could hear his heart beat quicken, “Oh, and Ryosuke…I love you too.”
Ryosuke’s heart began to beat quicker too, and he felt this amazing warmth spreading through him, like Kei had just injected him with pure sunshine as he said those three words. Leaning back up, the two met halfway as they kissed, all smiles and lovey dovey eyes.
Ryosuke had no idea what the future had in store for him, and he didn’t doubt it wouldn’t be hard. Life wasn’t easy with an alcoholic mother, and who knows how long he and Kei will last? They loved each other, but people can also change over time. His life wasn’t going to be ideal, and he was sure there would be times when he’d just want to give up and run away from it all.
But right now, he was content, nestled in Kei’s arms as their kisses grew more passionate and tender.
And for now, that was enough.
Now I can start posting my next multi-chap >:{D
