Kazuya felt oddly comfortable in Jin's arms, safe. It was like no one else but the two of them existed.
His arms moved from his sides to wrap around the Prince's neck. He angled his head so that they could kiss properly.
It was heavenly.
You are mine.
Kazuya pushed the Prince from him once he remembered those mentally spoken words. He didn't like being told that he was owned by anyone. He might have gotten...sidetracked from that fact but that doesn't mean he had forgotten about it.
Prince Jin looked at him with wide, honest and startled eyes. Kazuya also saw the hurt from his rejection that the prince didn't bother to hide.
That look was disconcerting, crumbling his defenses, so he turned his head away from the sight. However, as soon as he did that, the Prince suddenly collapsed on the ground, gasping. He was holding his middle tightly, his eyes wild and unfocused.
"Heavens, Kazu! What is happening to him?" Yamashita said, alarmed.
Kazuya knelt beside the Prince. "Prince Jin! Prince Jin!" The Prince still wasn't responding. "Jin, can you hear me?"
Jin, please answer me. He tried but the Prince gave no sign that he could sense Kazuya's presence.
Kazuya placed a hand on Prince Jin's cheek, which was burning hot due to the Prince's fever.
"This is bad." He waved his other hand and blue light pooled in his hand. He turned to Yamapi. "Pi listen to me. Once I give him the kiss of life, you must hide me from him for 3 days. He must not see me at all during those days, you understand?"
While he was saying that, he kept his eyes on the Prince who was now just whimpering.
Prince Jin finally looked at him. "K-kazu, I'm sorry."
"Don't be. You'll be fine, I promise." Kazu held Jin's face in his hands gently and leaned down, the blue light spreading around the two of them.
When their lips touched for the second time that day, Kazuya felt a strange pull, a connection.
The binding, he thought.
"Hello Jin."
A little boy looked at him strangely. "I'm a Prince," he said skeptically in a tone clearly wondering why Kazuya was saying his name informally.
"I know. But will you allow me to just call you 'Jin'?
Jin was silent.
"You're lonely, aren't you? So am I. I'll play with you."
That got the Prince's attention. "Yes! What's your name?"
"Kazuya."
"Hey Kazu, why are you not getting older? I used to sit on your lap before. Now I'm too big to do that." 16 year old Jin pouted at him. He was resting his head on Kazuya's shoulder.
Kazuya smiled and brushed Jin's hair away from his face. "I am getting older, it just doesn't show."
"But why?" Jin persisted.
"Look around you Jin."
Jin did as he was told. He saw the usual scenery - creatures of different forms on a great field with the two of them.
"Does this place make sense to you?"
Jin shook his head.
"Don't analyze anything here Jin."
"You're early, Jin. Shouldn't you be out on a ball somewhere? There are a lot of Princesses waiting to dance with you."
Kazuya was aware that Jin was no longer a young boy, he was growing into a very fine man. Surely, a lot of people especially girls are noticing that as well.
Jin smirked. "I'd rather see you."
Kazuya smiled, amused. "You see me every night."
"Not enough. And I sort of want to give you something." He fidgeted for a while before giving him lovely and colorful daisies. "I searched everywhere for flowers that could come close to your beauty but I found none, I'm sorry."
"Jin, don't try to search for me. Isn't it enough that I see you every night?"
"It isn't!"
Kazuya looked at the Prince sadly. "I thought I told you not to analyze things here. Maybe I should go. Goodbye Jin."
When Kazuya woke up, he was in a familiar room.
So Pi had decided to hide me in the forest cottage then. They were occupying an abandoned cottage in the forest before Lord Ryo caught him.
"You're awake!" Yamapi, who had just entered the room bringing a basin of water, approached him. "I was getting anxious because you were really really sick."
"How long was I asleep?"
A loud banging of the door interrupted them.
"Open this door, Yamashita! I have a right to see him!" the Prince's angry voice reached them from outside the house.
"No you do not!" Yamapi shouted, pissed. Then in a quieter voice, he said to Kazuya, "That Prince had been pestering me non-stop today since he found out where I hid you."
"If I have to break open this door I will! I'm strong enough to do that now," Prince Jin threatened.
Kazuya touched Yamapi's arm to stop him from answering.
Why are you here? He asked Prince Jin.
I don't know how I can do it but I can feel that you've been in pain. It's been 3 days Kazu! Why won't you let me see you?
Kazuya bit his lips. He forgot that Jin was attuned to his emotions now.
"Pi, please open the door."
"What? But I thought..." Pi was confused.
"I'll explain later."
Pi looked at him seriously before sighing, "If you say so."
The moment Pi opened the door, Prince Jin rushed to Kazuya's room.
Pi left them, muttering "stupid Prince" under his breath.
"I was so worried about you!" Jin held Kazuya's hand tightly. He took in Kazuya's appearance. "Why are you sick Kazuya? Is it...is it because of me?"
Kazuya's silence said it all.
Prince Jin embraced Kazuya and burried his head on Kazuya's neck. "Why?! No one would explain it to me. Right after we kissed, I instantly knew I was cured but when I woke up again, I felt your pain. Did I somehow pass my sickness to you?"
"Calm down Jin."
"No I- wait, did you just call me 'Jin'?" Jin pulled away from him to stare at his face.
Kazuya smiled. "Force of habit. I had always called you that way in your dreams, right?"
"You remember? You remember! Yes! I knew those dreams were too real to be just figments of my imagination."
"I'm sorry I left that night."
Jin shook his head. "It doesn't matter now. But Kazu, how did you do all of that?"
"Do what?"
"Be in my dreams, talk to me in my mind, produce those blue stuff in my bedroom when you first arrived here...everything."
Kazuya looked at Jin confused. "Jin, do you know what I am?"
Jin's eyes mirrored Kazuya's confusion. "Of course. Silly question. You're a human." He frowned. "Although I don't understand how you did those things."
Kazuya closed his eyes tight. Jin didn't know about him being a Whisperer. He haven't figured it out. What now?
"You're upset. I can feel it."
Kazuya forced himself to think happier thoughts. "Maybe you should go home for now. The King and Queen must be worried and I need to rest."
"You will rest in the palace, in a room close to mine so I could take care of you," Jin said with finality.
"What?!"
Jin's eyes softened. "The days without you had been hell, Kazuya. I can't be far from you again. Please let me take care of you."
Kazuya found he was weak against the forlorn expression in Jin's face.
Jin should be happy, smiling, laughing.
Needless to say, he said yes to the Prince's request.
