I wish those crafty people at Etsy would stop referring to items from the 80's as "vintage". Makes a person feel old.

The weather is finally the way it's supposed to be for May in Virginia - hot and humid. Not too hot, but enough to make for some uncomfortable nights of sleep. My son lives in a house with pale blue walls, patterned blue fabric on the furniture, deep blue rugs on the floor and blue paintings on the walls- yet when he came to show me his co-cop art homework, a drawing in monochromatic colors, he'd managed to do it wrong. Any of ya'll ever go to Not Back to School Camp- or send your kid there? Is it a great experience or- like church camp- is it mostly a place to go and have your first sexual experiences (not that I think that's so terrible, but I'm not willing to fork over $500.00 just so my son can snog in the woods)?

Would you get a haircut that you knew didn't at all suit you just because you'd wanted it for so long?

Fucking headache alllll night long. I still can't get rid of it. I remind myself it used to be like this a couple times a week, and not just once a month or so. I am lucky. Still, I wish it didn't feel like my right eye was being pushed out of my head.

I read a lot of kid and YA fiction. I'm not sure I ever stopped reading them once I became an adult. Vintage books are fun reads (I'm a fan of Beany Malone). There's so much YA fiction nowadays you don't have to look hard to find something good ( Read more... )
